The diamond-inspired superyacht concept with an on board ‘waterfall’

Must Read

(CNN) — Real diamonds should not float in water. But this brilliant new superyacht concept with an on-board cinema, helipad and three integrated pools is clearly the exception to the rule.

Designed by Italian studio Gabriele Teruzzi Yachts & Design, the Stella del Sud concept was inspired by the famous Cartier 128 carat diamond from which it takes its name.

New renderings of the 110-meter (360 feet) vessel show its elegant, sharp lines, which appear to be diamond-shaped, as well as “a stunning side window glass design connecting all decks.”

The vessel’s uninterrupted glass panels are positioned to reflect light, ensuring that it shines continuously.

On board, the superyacht will be fitted with a long foredeck that houses a helipad, as well as a private lounge area with L-shaped sofas ideal for entertaining guests.

The main deck has eight VIP cabins, a gym and a piano lounge area overlooking an impressive side window.

A luxurious open beach club, based on the Royal Palace of Caserta, a former royal residence in southern Italy built by Bourbon King Charles III as a rival to Versailles, is one of its many distinctive features.

The large area includes three connected swimming pools on different levels, which Teruzzi describes as a “waterfall effect”.

Unparalleled views

According to the design team, the ship’s split levels are “strategically designed” to offer passengers an unparalleled sea view from the main salon, which is surrounded by large panoramic windows that feature “rain effect” lighting at night.

There is also a 3,500-square-foot sun deck with lounge area, hot tub, and al fresco dining space with round table.

You’d expect a lavish owner’s suite like this on a superyacht and the Stella del Sud doesn’t disappoint.

Occupying most of the bridge deck, it comes with “his and her” bathrooms, walk-in wardrobes and a salt wall, but the highlight here is undoubtedly the aquarium installed in the bed ceiling.

Entertainment has also been added in the form of a cinema, which will be built into the bilge deck to take advantage of the dark environment and ensure the best viewing experience on board.

Meanwhile, both sides of the hull are fitted with two shell doors that open onto two separate terraces of 30 square meters each.

Stella del Sud is currently only a concept, but will this “shining diamond” have a chance to shine on the water in the not-too-distant future?

The team at Gabriele Teruzzi Yachts & Design has been tight-lipped about any further developments with the design, but it’s certainly attracting a lot of attention.

Stella del Sud is one of several exciting new superyachts unveiled in the past few weeks, including the nature-focused Symbiosis from Swiss design studio Kurt Murky, which boasts a deck full of greenery, and the 60-metre Gecko 60. Franco Gnessi & Partners, which resembles a Japanese pagoda.
