Czech automaker Skoda’s Indian Army has reportedly discontinued their Kushak style variant, which was equipped with two airbags. Instead, the full-loaded 2022 variant will now be equipped with six airbags.
According to RushLane, the top variant of the Kushaq Style will now be available with only six airbags. This update applies to all Skoda Kushaq Style units of MY 2022; However, all other variants of the model, including the Active and Ambition, will continue to be offered as standard with two airbags. The Kushak style with six airbags was launched in November last year and it comes with front side and curtain airbags in addition to driver and passenger airbags. However, customers have to pay Rs. Will have to spend 70,000 more, Report Cited
The company’s decision could also be an active step in ensuring compliance with strict safety standards, as the Indian government plans to make six-airbags mandatory for all cars with up to eight passengers. Notably, many cars in the country have six airbags, but they are mostly offered in top-spec trims. Then again, the new six-airbag rule / compliance will be different, as it will apply to all types and trim levels. But the move is sure to cost consumers a lot more money to buy a four-wheeler.
